For the single-cask enthusiast and collector who wants to taste a unique, unrepeatable cask.
Of all the Kingsbarns bottlings we stock, this is the most personal: one bourbon cask, number 1510250, and never exactly the same again. Creamy vanilla, coconut and pear, at full strength. I pour it after dinner with a crème brûlée, for anyone who loves sweet, warming whisky.
It comes from one individually selected ex-bourbon cask, number 1510250, and was not vatted with other casks. Every cask develops differently, so this flavour cannot be repeated. Kingsbarns bottled it unfiltered at cask strength. The result is the distillery's fruity Lowland style in concentrated form, with vanilla, pear, coconut and honey.
It varies by cask and is shown on the label. The whisky was bottled at cask strength, so without being diluted with water. That means the strength is higher than standard bottlings at 46% ABV. Start with a small sip neat, then add water drop by drop until the vanilla and honey come through at their best.
This single cask comes from one ex-bourbon cask and is creamy and sweet, with vanilla and coconut; it sits in our Rich & Sweet quadrant. The Distillery Reserve 2021 is a limited release from first-fill bourbon casks and STR wine casks at 61.8% ABV. It is fruitier and fresher and sits in the Smooth & Fruity quadrant.
