Scottish Made
Scottish Made coasters are handmade in Scotland from 100% Scottish oak. Each design carries a motif from Scottish country and outdoor life, from the Highland cow and the red deer to golf, shooting and fishing. They protect your table from rings and give every whisky moment a little extra character.

With a diameter of 10 cm they fit under a tumbler, a tasting glass or a coffee mug, and they are suitable for hot and cold drinks. Alongside the Scottish themes you will find the understated Bees and Hare designs, plus a wink to gin lovers: Gin is my Tonic. For coasters in slate or other materials, see our coasters collection.
How do you look after oak coasters?
Wipe them with a slightly damp cloth and let them air-dry. Do not leave pools of water or spilt whisky on the wood, and never put them in the dishwasher or a washing-up bowl, as the oak may swell, stain or crack. The protective finish on Scottish Made coasters means a single drop does no harm, as long as you wipe it away promptly.
Can you put a hot mug on a Scottish Made coaster?
Yes, the coasters are suitable for both hot and cold drinks. A mug of coffee or tea is fine, as is a glass of whisky over ice that gathers condensation on the outside. If a glass with a lot of condensation has stood on it, wipe the coaster dry afterwards so that the moisture does not soak into the wood.
Which motif makes the best gift?
Choose the motif that matches the recipient's hobby or a special memory. Golf, Shooting and Fishing are the obvious choice for a sports enthusiast, while the Highland cow and the red deer suit anyone who loves Scotland or the Highlands. Bees and Hare are more understated and fit almost any interior, and Gin is my Tonic is a playful gift for a gin lover.
Why do the coasters vary in colour?
Because every coaster is made from solid Scottish oak, and wood is a natural material. Grain and colour vary from piece to piece, so no two coasters are exactly alike. That is not a flaw but the very hallmark of a handmade product: the motif is the same on every coaster, while the wood beneath it tells its own story each time.
Do whisky glasses fit on a 10 cm coaster?
Yes, a 10 cm diameter leaves plenty of room for a tulip-shaped tasting glass and for tumblers up to around 9 cm across, like most of the crystal tumblers in our range. A coffee mug or wine glass also stands securely on it. At a tasting, set out one coaster per guest: everyone has their own place and your table stays free of rings.
