Are Final Touch whisky glasses dishwasher-safe?
The 195 ml tulip-shaped tasting glasses are: they are made of lead-free DuraShield crystal reinforced with titanium and can go on the top rack of the dishwasher. The same applies to the three glasses in the Flight Tasting set, but the wooden holder should be cleaned by hand. For the other glasses and decanters, check the product page; when in doubt, hand washing is the safest choice.
Which Final Touch set suits which purpose?
For tasting, choose the 195 ml tulip-shaped glasses, sold singly, in pairs or in the Flight Tasting set. If you like your whisky chilled, the Rock glass with ice ball mould, the Yarai whisky set with two On The Rock glasses and ice ball moulds, or the separate ice ball moulds are the ones to go for. For cocktails there is the Yarai shaker, and for serving you can choose between the rotating decanter, the handmade Japanese-style decanter and the skull decanter with matching glasses.
What is in the Final Touch Flight Tasting set?
Three 195 ml tulip-shaped tasting glasses and a walnut stand with aspen veneer that holds them side by side. That way you can set out a flight of three whiskies in one go. The glasses are intended for tasting measures of 30 to 60 ml and are dishwasher-safe; the stand should be cleaned by hand. Pour, for example, three whiskies from different quadrants of the M4W Flavour Compass and compare them side by side.
What is the Yarai pattern?
Yarai is a traditional Japanese cut pattern of fine, diagonally crossing lines, often seen on mixing glasses, decanters and tumblers in Japanese bars. At Final Touch the pattern is cut into the glass by hand. It is more than decoration: the grooves give you grip when the glass is cold and wet, for example when shaking with the Yarai cocktail shaker or holding an ice ball in the On The Rock glasses.
How does the Final Touch rotating decanter work?
The decanter has a rounded base with an anti-tip design: give it a nudge and it spins and wobbles, but always rights itself. That movement sets the whisky swirling, lifting the aromas and creating a playful moment at the table. It holds up to 750 ml, enough for a standard bottle of whisky, gin or rum.
