Gift sets
A whisky glass gift set pairs glasses with something that gives them a place of their own, such as a decanter, a tray or a holder made from old whisky casks. Every set in this collection is by Glencairn Crystal of Scotland, some of them made together with Darach of Inverness. It is a gift that does not disappear into a cupboard but stands proudly on the table or the bar.

More about [title]
Darach holders are handmade from the oak of retired whisky casks from Highland and Speyside distilleries, and come with one to six glasses. You can choose between the standard Glencairn glass in lead-free crystal and the heavier, hand-cut Glencairn Cut glass in 24% lead crystal. For those who pour their whisky from a decanter there are sets with the Iona or Skye decanter, and for tastings there are trays with three glasses or with a water jug. Smaller combinations with whisky stones, tasting caps or tasting journals can be found among our gift sets with whisky glass.
Why give a whisky glass gift set with a holder rather than separate glasses?
Because a holder gives the glasses a permanent, visible home and adds a story to the gift. Darach holders are made from the wood of old whisky casks, complete with marks from their life as a cask, so no two are alike. The recipient keeps the glasses on the bar or table rather than in a cupboard. You choose the number of glasses and whether you want the standard Glencairn glass or the heavier, hand-cut Cut version.
How many glasses should a whisky glass gift set have?
That depends on how the recipient drinks. A holder with one or two glasses suits someone who mostly enjoys a dram alone or as a couple. Three to six glasses are handy for tastings, where whiskies with different flavour profiles are set side by side. Darach holders come in every step from one to six glasses, with either standard Glencairn glasses or Cut glasses.
What is the difference between the Skye and Iona decanter sets?
The Skye set pairs a decanter with Skye tumblers in 24% lead crystal, mouth-blown and hand-cut, in a wooden presentation box; you choose two or six glasses. The Iona set has a 750 ml decanter in lead-free crystal with four tulip-shaped Glencairn glasses, either plain or as hand-cut Cut glasses. Skye suits relaxed sipping from a tumbler, Iona suits those who prefer to nose and taste.
What is in the Glencairn tasting sets with tray?
There are two versions. The first consists of a 30 by 15 cm oak tray bearing the brand name and three official Glencairn glasses, in a Glencairn gift box. It lets you line up three whiskies, for example from different quadrants of the M4W Flavour Compass. The second version has a water jug and two glasses, for those who like to taste together and add a few drops of water to open up the aromas.
Which whisky glass gift set suits which occasion?
For an anniversary or retirement, choose a decanter set, such as Skye in its wooden presentation box or Iona with four Cut glasses. For someone who likes to host tastings, a tray with three glasses or a Darach holder with four to six glasses is practical. As a thank-you or small token, a Darach holder with one glass is enough, and for the everyday dram with water, the set with a water jug and two glasses is a good choice.
