Who, when and why

Lovely for a quiet evening with a good dram, and just as suitable for surprising guests over drinks. An ice ball fits nicely in a tumbler and also works well in cocktails served on the rocks. A small, affordable addition to your home bar.

Good to know

  • Fill the mould slowly to keep air bubbles to a minimum.
  • Use filtered water if possible for clearer ice.
  • Wrap the filled mould loosely in a tea towel: the water then freezes more slowly, which often gives clearer ice.
  • Leave the mould at room temperature for 1 to 2 minutes before removing the ice.
