Duncan Taylor selected this cask from the little-known but highly regarded Speyside distillery Glentauchers — traditionally an important supplier to blends and rarely bottled as a single malt. This "Den Haag" edition is a single cask selected specifically for the Dutch market.

Soft fruit. Vanilla. Lightly spiced.
Medium length. Fresh. Elegant.
For anyone wanting to discover a rare, elegant Speyside malt from a distillery that is only rarely bottled as a single malt.
Glentauchers almost always disappears into blends, so a single cask from this distillery is special in itself. The fact that this cask was also selected for the Dutch market makes it extra appealing to me. I pour it at a spring dinner with lemon tart, for anyone looking for elegance and freshness.
It is an edition whose cask was selected by Duncan Taylor specifically for the Dutch market. It is a single ex-bourbon cask, bottled undiluted at cask strength, without chill filtration or colouring. As it is a single cask, the outturn is limited to what that one cask yielded.
Glentauchers has traditionally been an important supplier for blends. Most of its production goes into blended whiskies, so single malt bottlings are scarce. Independent bottlers such as Duncan Taylor offer a chance to taste the spirit on its own: elegant, with green apple, honey and blossom.
No, the label carries no age statement; the maturation period is specific to the cask. That says nothing about quality: with a single cask, it is above all about the character of that one cask. The ABV also varies by cask, as the whisky was bottled at cask strength. You will find it on the label.
